What can I use Preview for?

Preview, powered by Filmbankconnect, is for Filmbankmedia employees to preview the titles our customers screen for their audiences to keep us fully acquainted with the great titles our licensor studios release. Preview should be used for no other purpose at any time for any reason.

Where can I use Preview?

Preview can only be used in the Filmbankmedia office or Filmbankmedia employees' homes.

How can I see films only for children in the catalogue?

The catalogue can be filtered to show just U and PG titles by using the 'Refine by' button to open up a panel on the left of the screen showing the 'Classification' option.

The title I want to watch won’t play, what should I do?

Don't panic, it may be something simple. Firstly please ensure you're not on a VPN (eg GlobalProtect), you're using Google Chrome and you're in the location you supplied when you were set up as a user. If those are all "yes" then the next thing to check is that your browser is saying it's in the right place (this can go wrong every now and then) by going to Google Maps and pressing the target in the bottom right - this will centre on 'My Location'. If that's OK too then please report a bug and we'll see what went wrong.

If the browser location information isn't correct, don't worry, this is a feature of the browser based on many factors (none controlled by FBC) and usually it corrects itself after a few minutes. You can double check with another site like: https://www.where-am-i.net/

I’ve spotted a bug, who should I tell, and how?

Excellent - thanks for being so attentive. There are some bugs we already know about and will be resolving in the coming weeks but you may have found a new one so please let the FBC team know anyway by emailing to connect@filmbankmedia.com.

When you email please can you let us know:

The operating system (Windows, Mac OS, etc), the browser (Google Chrome, Safari, etc), the title you were viewing, the error you saw and if you were able to reproduce the error.

My connection is slow, can I download a title?

Yes, Filmbankconnect includes a feature that allows you to download a title and watch it while you are on line and remain on the page. Pressing 'Ctrl + Y' will bring up the download button.

Please note due to the security required by the studios playback of a downloaded title will not be possible if you disconnect from the internet and the download will be removed if you close the browser.

Why is my browser asking to share my location information?

This streaming platform is operated for Non-Theatrical clients. These screenings are licensed to venues. In order to ensure that this service is only being operated within licensed venues a location check is carried out using the information from your machine. This information is only used to check against a database of licensed locations and not stored by the system or used for any other purpose.
